EPAA was established in September 2006 with financial and technical support of GTZ.
EPAA is an executive arm of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries was established in September 2006 with financial and technical support of GTZ.
EPAA acts as an implementing agency of the export promotion policies of MOCI, promoting exports through:

(from start-up to industry) using an Export Step-by-Step approach.

Coordinating both the public and private sector initiatives to create an enabling environment
for competitive exports and contribution to the generation of jobs.
EPAA’s mission statement and vision are as follows:

To promote Afghanistan’s participation in the processing, marketing and distribution of its commodities by:
• Improved market access
• Providing alternative means for ensuring greater added value
• Predictability and increased export earnings
• Increase intra-industry trade
• Help the country to integrate in the world economy
• Reduce the impact of external shocks on the domestic economy
Vision
As the Export Promotion Executive Agency of the Afghan Government EPAA shall address issues affecting export including:
• Streamlining national export procedures
• Implementing governmental export policies
• Promoting Afghan products through the participation in International Trade Fairs
• Exchange and linking with other regional and international Export Promotion Agencies
• Implementing international quality standards
• Cooperate with public sector to exploit potentials and eliminate obstacles through private sector initiatives
• Establish exporters road map for Afghan products
• Identifying priority countries and market analysis
